In the weeks following we received emails for the 30th and nothing mentioned the 31st. The agent would not honor the discounted price because the promo was over.even though the resort is what forced us to switch days due to the closure. We called and ended up booking October 30th and October 31st and check out on November 1st. As you can imagine this was very stressful and threw a wrench in our plans. Weeks after booking we received an email stating that due to staffing issues the resort was going to be closed on November 1st so we needed to find somewhere else to stay. We booked October 31st for check in and checkout on November 2nd and were making the 28 hour drive as our son was having a birthday and that was the destination he chose. The only response we got was to the first email where she essentially said it is what it is and passed the blame on to us as the guests. We have sent numerous emails to Natalie Turner (Guest Services Supervisor) and she has not responded to our emails explaining what the issues are so I will post them all here for everyone to see. We are thoroughly disappointed in our experience at this specific resort. There is nothing that would induce me back here ever to spend a night, eat food, or try any of the activities again. The whole weekend just felt like a pathetic money grab without trying to actually cater to guests needs and instead forcing them to be so miserable that they had to spend money to keep their kids from loosing their minds. This space ended up being a public restaurant eating area RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOWLING ALLEY.like, WHAT? No words. They ASSURED us they had just the thing - a quiet location on floor two. We contacted them ahead of time to ask about a quiet work space (my husband needed to be on a meeting in a private, quiet space). Another one "took a picture" of our kid and then printed out a picture of someone else's kid.what? We literally still have a picture of someone else's kid. We tried a couple of the arcade games - one of them didn't give out any of the earned tickets. one says it opens at 7, so we went down and then sat for half an hour with squirly kids until it ACTUALLY opened at 7:30).miserable experience again. The times of the restaurnts in the app did not match the time of the restaurants in reality (i.e. When we tried ordering food, items kept disappearing from our cart and would show up and then dissappear from the restauant altogether befor showing up again a few minutes later. The app was a nice idea, but useless because it didn't actually work. There's literally no way we could have stayed any longer at this resort without starving. They only offer bar food (burgers/fries.nachos) everywhere, so even if you just wanted to eat healthy (not vegan) there's not a whole lot for you either. Great Wolf Lodge is PITIFULLY behind the rest of the world in offering vegetarian and vegan food and especially vegan protein options. There was nothing substantial available at any of the "snack" stands, and 0 vegan protein options to be found anywhere. We found exactly 2 items that were vegan. The food options were pretty nasty actually. It also drives everyone to the same places at the same time - why wouldn't at least ONE of the restaurants open early for early risers? It was miserable. The timing of everything is a little ridiculous - pools don't open until 10 and they close at 8? There's no reason to stay over at the resort - we had 5 hours of "dead time" in the morning where our kids (too young for all the other activities) went nuts. Checking to see what fee they put on my son's card to make sure there was not a scam on the pricing of the room because they put under a different card. I did not get a courtesy call or anything to remedy the situation and the Guest Services Manager I spoke with had a nice tone but remained "flip" in her responses. Seems stupid as they already had my money for two months and they were going to be paid. Thinking this GIFT was all taken care of, I find out because i was not physically there with my card and did not have a waiver on file, which I still have not found on the website, they would not allow my son to use his card for other items they had purchased that were assigned to the room. The entire room was charged, as per their policy in November for a January stay. I purchased a stay ,also during a promotion, at GWL like some of hte others. The fee is worth the fun for your children and they are very good at explaining things during booking, etc. Save your money at go to KALAHARI in Wisconsin Dells.
